Cloel exists to hold your glimmers: the morning window rays, the subway silhouettes, the neon reflections that stick with you after a long day. These terms are not fine print to trick you—they're a shared understanding between you and the space we've built for your moments. When you use Cloel, you agree to the quiet promises laid out on this page.
1. The Ritual of Imprinting Your Moments
Cloel is yours to use, no account required, no sign-up needed, no email forced out of you just to capture a glow. You can capture new photos directly through the app, import existing glimmers from your camera roll, calibrate their spectrum, pull out soft color palettes, and jot down imprint notes that tell the story behind the light.
All your imprints are organized neatly into eight spectrum cabinets, complete with gentle stats and browsable albums that make rediscovering old moments feel like flipping through a well-loved photo book. At the end of each month, you can wrap your collection up as a Lumen Calendar poster to export and keep forever.
2. Your Light Stays Yours, Always
We built Cloel to be a darkroom of light, not a cloud farm for your data. Every single one of your imprints stays on your device. We never upload your photos, your notes, or your palettes to any external server. We don't have a cloud. We don't use AI to scan your content. We never see your collection.
This means you are fully in control of your archive. If you delete the app, all of your light goes with it—we don't keep hidden copies somewhere. We think that's how it should be: your light, your archive.
3. How You Agree to Use Cloel
Cloel is designed for your personal, private use. You can use it to build your own collection of light moments, make posters for your walls, export your calendars for your own keepsaking.
You agree not to use Cloel to do anything that breaks the app, mess with its code, or access anything that isn't meant for your personal use. You also agree that any imprints you add to your archive are yours to share through the app, or that you have permission to keep them. We don't want anyone's light to be a source of harm, so we ask that you don't use Cloel for anything that hurts others or violates someone else's privacy.
4. The Design & Soul of Cloel
The warm glow, drifting particles, spectrum strips, signature "Imprint Moment" ritual, and every other little detail you find in the app are part of the soul of Cloel. We love sharing this experience with you, but all the design, code, and branding belong to the Cloel project.
You can't copy, modify, or distribute Cloel as your own, but we're so happy you're here using it exactly as it's meant to be used: holding your light.
5. Changes to These Terms
As we add new little features to Cloel (more ways to hold your light, more gentle rituals), we may update these terms to match the experience. When we do, we'll let you know through the app, and the new terms will take effect the next time you open the app after the update.
If you keep using Cloel after we update these terms, that means you're good with the new promises. If not, you can always stop using the app at any time.
