Our Philosophy: Your Light, Your Archive
Cloel is your private archive of light — a personal darkroom where you collect everyday glimmers: morning window rays, subway silhouettes, neon reflections, and lamplight halos. We built Cloel differently, with privacy at the core.
Unlike other apps that hoard your data in distant servers, we designed Cloel to keep everything on your device. No accounts. No cloud sync. No AI processing off your device. This privacy policy explains how we approach your data when you use our app.

What Information Do We Collect?
The simple answer is: we don't collect any of your personal data.
When you use Cloel to capture or import light moments, calibrate spectrums, extract color palettes, or write imprint notes, all of this content stays exclusively on your device. We never transfer any of your photos, notes, or color data to our servers or any third parties.
All your light specimens, spectrum organization, and Lumen Calendar posters live only on your device.
We never ask you to create an account or provide personal information like your name or email.
We don't have any cloud infrastructure that would store your personal collection.
How We Protect Your Light Collection
We've engineered Cloel following the darkroom metaphor — it's your personal workspace, and we've designed it to maintain that privacy by design:
Local-Only Processing
All spectrum calibration, palette extraction, and Lumen Calendar generation happens directly on your device. Your images never leave to our servers for processing.
Organized Locally
Your eight spectrum cabinets, statistics, and browsable albums are stored only on your device. We have no way of accessing this organization or your collection.
Export Is In Your Control
When you export your monthly Lumen Calendar poster, the exported file stays on your device. You choose where to store or share it — we never get a copy.
Third-Party Services
Cloel is a standalone app that doesn't integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or data collection services. We don't use any third-party tools that would collect information about your usage of the app.
The only interactions with third parties are when you import photos from your device's photo library (handled by your operating system) or when you export your posters to share them elsewhere, which you initiate and control entirely.
Children's Privacy
Cloel doesn't collect any personal information from anyone, including children. Since all content stays on the user's device and we don't collect any data, we are fully compliant with protecting children's privacy. The app is designed for personal use and is safe for users of all ages.
Changes To This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this policy and include a summary of what changed.
We encourage you to review this privacy policy periodically. Your continued use of Cloel after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the new privacy policy.
